About Us

The Durant family has been a beacon of community service throughout Guyana for many generations. Leonard Durant and his wife Cyrilene Durant ensured that they instilled in their children the importance of loving your neighbors and caring for others. Leonard Durant was a member of parliament and because his political position their family was able to live a prestigious life. However, they always ensured they were serving the community at large because they believed they were blessed to be a blessing. As the years went on, Constance Martin and her siblings lived their lives giving to the less fortunate in any way they could. It wasn't until December 2018 that Constance and her sister Simone Gonsalves decided to take their efforts and collectively come together to create the Durant Family Fulfillment Group.

For Christmas 2018, Simone and her former colleague Cynthie hosted a talent show and pageant for the local teens from the village Melanie-Damishana. That same Christmas, they hosted a dinner for the elderly from the same village. All the dinner attendees were given a food basket, and the oldest attendee won a prize. They did the same thing in December 2019, and that was the last of the formal dinner because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Simone and Cynthie decided to deliver food baskets to the elderly during the holiday season. In 2022, they expanded giving out food baskets to needy families as well as the elderly. During this time, the Durant family also gave out school bags and supplies to needy children, and began being the point of contact for locals who were in need of resources and assistance. Because of the growing demand and need of locals in Guyana, it was decided by the eldest Durant sibling Constance Martin to establish the Durant Family Fulfillment Group as an actual nonprofit organization. Today, Constance sits as the organization president.
